Sometimes finding what you need on the internet can be a bit confusing, especially when you are unfamiliar with how to do it. The websites below are some basics for education, hobbies and recreation that you might find interesting. |

Educational Websites you might find useful: UptoTen.com - educational games, activities, stories and songs for kids. Kerpoof.com - make a story, a book, a movie with kids. You need to play around with it first and read the notes "How to Play" and "Teachers and Parents" MIT High School Open Courseware for AP - Biology, Calculus and Physics teaching ideas, videos, etc. One of these teachers (Physics) was recently named Professor of the year. Of course you will need real player and we don't have it. We are working on getting it. OER Commons - Open Educational Resources on the web. Your topic may or may not be covered. Look at the cloud tag at the left for topics that have the most resources. Teachersdomain.com - Mostly science videos, but also has some pre-school reading, art and civil rights videos in "Special Collections" 4Teacher.org - the parent website for Rubistar and SO much more -- Project Based learning checklist, Quiz star, webquests and much more. Lesson Plans Page - through Hotchalk.com. The site allows you to search by subject and grade level for lesson plan ideas. Education World - Mostly geared toward elementary and middle school, but it does have some great stuff. Discovery Education - Lesson plans. Search by grade level first and then topic. Del.icio.us - search according to your topic. Consider joining as you find tags of interest. Thinkfinity.com - Used to be Marco Polo; good lesson planning site. Ideas of Wisconsin - Another lesson planning site. Teaching Books - Mostly geared for K-8 it has author websites, book guides and author programs Cooking and Recipe Websites Food Network - a much used site that features recipes featured on the many Food Nework programs as well as many that aren't. All Recipes - Allrecipes.com "has more than 40,000 free recipes—all created, tested, reviewed and approved by home cooks worldwide. Epicurious - A site sponsored by Gormet and Bon Appetit magazine. It has recipes from simple to elaborate. Cooking Light - Partnered with myrecipes.com, this site offers tons of recipes for those looking for lighter fare. |

Scrapbooking 101 - a guide to the basics of scrapbooking it provides information about many of the things a novice would want to know including basic techniques, supplies and definitions.
